The countries on the videos have largely homogenous populations, and as such aren't fairly compared with the U.S., which has a very diverse citizenry. These countries also have strict gun laws and maintain a close watch on their citizens behavior in regard to criminal activity.
But the sexual tolerance of these societies can certainly be compared to the U.S., which in essence places restrictions on its citizens based primarily on the religious mythology of those who claim such belief, which finds many contradictions in actual practice, however.
As a nation, the U.S. likes to claim that was founded on the right to worship any god; in practice, though, only the Christians are making the policy, which has left us with laws against homosexual conduct while slyly winking at pornography and prostitution, gambling and gun ownership, the sale of alcohol and the prohibition of marijuana, and the application of the death penalty. A very confusing mix which varies from state to state with little consistency.
It's no surprise they're better educated and more intelligent. It's still striking that people believe in religions. "Heaven", i.e. the sky (It. 'cielo'), is just this: clouds, birds, winged angels... This is everywhere in the Holy Scriptures, but see especially the Gospel of Thomas...
